Anwyn points to the bar on the door.

"Looks like whatever might be inside can't get out," she whispers before she tiptoes across the hall to check the right door.

(OOC: Again, she'll listen at the door, report if she hears anything, then check to see how the door opens.)

Mads would be content with putting up with the chill of the night if it meant reducing the chances of being spotted. That, and I'd imagine proper ventilation is dubious. Though, if the heat of a small fire would help Olaf & Co. rest easier, I'd be inclined to go along with it.

Anwyn has only to turn about to face the door opposite. It is of very similar construction to the first door -- only this time the heavy timber bar lies idle on the ground...

Mads looks out the east facing arrow slit to survey the surrounds. The weather is typical for early autumn -- mild days and cool to cold (but not yet frosty) nights with patchy rain. It will hardly be less comfortable here in the tower than it was in the field the previous night... and it will be a lot safer besides.

It would certainly not hurt to close the charred shutters over the arrow slits and light a small camp fire -- the smoke would escape out the trapdoor in the ceiling. It would be especially comforting if there were any game to roast over it...

Anwyn will sit her bow next to the door before lifting the bar up and, as quietly as possible, putting it back in place.

With uncanny -- bordering on magical -- strength for her size, Anwyn lifts the timber bar and hefts it into place. In fact, the bar has swollen and warped with the damp of ages and does not fit easily into place, but with a little shoving and wrestling it is forced partway into its brackets. The door is well barred.

"Nicely done," Ulric whispers admiringly at Anwyn. "You're rather strong for your size. Now we shouldn't need to worry about any hobgoblins that might have taken refuge in there. Now let's make sure the other doors are secure. I'd rather have the other warriors with us before we go charging in any of them."
