That doesn't match up with anything we're familiar with on the level above us. I think we should see where it leads, perhaps a secret room? Send one of the wereboars up first, of course!
Assuming nothing significant can be seen in either direction, let's turn and head north. (The reasoning being if we suddenly need to flee back to the ladder, the turn will help obstruct the view of us from whatever it is we may be fleeing from).
Maloof is still in favour of sending the wereboars down, but won't stop Franklin if he wants to take the lead instead. Maloof's probably not the ideal person to hold the rope though, if Franklin might need to be hauled up in a hurry!
