Dieter shrugs off the useless weight of it and laughs at his foe, then invokes the command word and springs into the air like a grass-hopper. With a sword.
From way up in the cold air, Dieter sees the three hobgoblins he hadn't yet slain getting up and scurrying back toward their brethren.
One of them fires (1d20=11) another crossbow bolt toward him, and it whizzes by him with lethal speed but misses him in flight... and then he is descending toward the earth like a thunderbolt!
His leap is high but not deep enough to carry him over the walls, instead landing him with a resounding thud near the gate, where in he wriggles through the gap he made after Pelenwin.
