(I somehow got through today; I'm not using a VPN and I've been getting "Forbidden" as well)
Maloof grasps the broom, and on a whim he orders it to sweep any gold present into the centre of the room and then releases it.

Maloof picks up the broom again and next tries ordering the broom to fly across the room and then return.
Regardless of whether Maloof can determine if it's magical right now, he's going to keep it. After the above experiment, let's head back down the trap door and follow the passage east.

The broom starts to fly. Does he let it yank it out of his hands, or does he jump on?

Maloof will jump on, but command the broom to slow down and stop!

The tunnel continues east for 100 feet past the north branch . It ends at a similar rough ladder/rungs leading up to a trapdoor. A huge pile of thousands of silver pieces is on the floor at the foot of the ladder

All, I am Origins convention this weekend running over 30 hour of Pendragon and Age of Vikings. I return on Monday, but then flying out on Tuesday to be with wife for the summer. I will be on, but more limited.
