Alas, Pelenwin's head was stuffed in a rough hessian bag as he was brought to this dark place -- he knows not what lies beyond the portal. Only that the stinking Ogre Deggerhund comes through it once in each day or two to paw at his flesh and gargle on about what a fine addition Man-flesh would make to his cook pot...

"Perhaps this Deggerhund has a key to the cell?" Ulric says once Pelenwin has finished his tale of woe. "If we are to free this man it appears that we must either go through that door or find places to hide and wait for him to come to us and ambush him."
Ulric turns to Pelenwin to pester him with more questions.
"Do you have a sense as to how long ago the ogre last came to see you?"

"Pelenwin, are you a good actor? Perhaps if you feign illness or death, you can distract this Deggerhund while we jump him from behind! I see there are many hiding places within this cluttered chamber of woe."
"Perhaps we can even take him alive and interrogate him... though I must defer to Pelenwin on this point as the victim of his wickedry."

Wearily Pelenwin nods his head to his new companions. "I like this plan where Deggerhund gets exactly what he deserves." Pelenwin curls up, face down in the far corner of his cell after relating the last time Deggerhund came to visit him.

OOC: Yes, I know I'm behind, but this is the first chance I've had to look at the game since mid-day yesterday.
Olaf waves to the others and whispers loudly, "We have someone here!"
Squatting outside the cell, Olaf shakes the bars and whispers loudly to the man inside, "Wake up! Are you all right?"
"We will try to get you out of there."

It is difficult to judge the passing of time in a miserable, perpetual dark. Hours can seem like days without notice.
Pelenwin judges by his hunger alone that it must have been near a whole day since the brutish Deggerhund last bought any noisome scraps of food for him to eat...

Meanwhile Anwyn saunters along the row of cells, testing each door distastefully with a prod of her boot. The others seem all ajar, and protest with a rusty creek as they are forced to swing slightly.
Anwyn then pulls the door of the the cell adjacent to Pelenwin's open, and ducks her head to enter...
... after a short moment she pokes her head out a says "Master Dwarf," seeking out Thorgrim, "Come hither and test your hammer against this stone!"
