I'm glad the venomous/poisonous thing was corrected early in the encounter. Remember: If you have to eat it to get hurt, it's poisonous; if IT tries to eat YOU and you get hurt, it's venomous.

If the spiders cross the imaginary line provided by the two stalagmites (or pillars?) in the middle of the room and we have time to do so, let's retreat to area #1 and see if they follow.

Round 1
Another volley of slingstones!
Dougal, Robur, and Willie badly wound glowing Spider #2, and then Dame Simonetta knocks it dead.
Spiders #3 and #4 were not affected by the Faerie Fire spell
Beppo, Bilfur, Douglas, Fiona, and Ginger concentrate their fire on Spider #3, badly wounding it.
The Hobbets take a step back (towards Area #1) hoping to lure the spiders, but the surviving Spiders #3 and #4 retreat to the west, ending combat.
The party has survived a very dangerous encounter! What next?

Robur 17, hit for 6hp
Willie 24, hit for 4hp
Dougal 18, hit for 2hp
Dame Simonetta 12, hit for 4hp killing Spider #2!
