<speaking in the capacity of assistant referee> So you move up to the long range of 3" to attack the hag with throwing axe/mace? Or do you throw these items from your current location, which... well, no need to make any To Hit rolls. There is a (good) chance that moving within range will place you at an uncomfortable distance to the hydra...

As he approaches the distance necessary to have any chance of hitting the hag, The Herald decides he'd rather die with his weapon in his hand. He charges the hag.
If that's really a hydra, we're all dead no matter what. So The Herald will take the chance that it's not a hydra and pass on throwing his mace. He'll charge into melee, even if he can't reach the hag this round.

So... thus far we have Zax attempting a heroic throw (assuming he advances 20ft to come into range, his missile would only need to weave magically through thrashing hydra-necks and chains, and columns to have any chance of hitting the hag), and The Herald charging directly into the fantastic monstrosity before him in the... (fanatic?) belief that it can't exist.

It would be good to hear from a few more party members before we commit...

Karl isn't even on the map yet, so I feel anything I add would be superfluous at best.

Dopey is also near the rear of the marching order, so unless the whole party spills into the room he doesn't have a whole lot of options.

If he enters the room prior to the hydra being released, Dopey will run along the wall taking cover behind the statues, and attempt to circle around to the hag. He will abandon this course of action only if something interesting about the statues or other objects in the room catches his eye and seems more important.

If he is unable to enter the room before the hydras release, Dopey will assess the situation upon entering the room before making any decisions.

Zem would head west around the outside of column to try and close in on the hag from north.
This is my action after I paused and took stock of the hydra and felt something was wrong here. The instinct to use his nose may not prove or disapprove anything it was just Zem reaction.

Leudigar unslings his bow, moves south hugging the wall until he gets a clear line of sight, then fires a arrow at the hag, hoping to disrupt whatever activity she has in mind, which he suspects is 'trying to free the hydra'.

If Akbar can target the hag with the arbalest, he will.

Fried is late to the room, but he'll move along the wall with Dopey hoping to circle around and get on the Hag's flank.

Wetzel drops his torch on the ground just inside the huge chamber, leans his spear against the wall, and unslings his bow. He'll try to stay in the passageway outside the arch, letting any who wish pass him by. He holds his fire until he gets a clear shot at the hag, or until the hydra is released. If the latter, he'll fire as long as he can, but will retreat back into the antechamber if the thing approaches.

As he does this, he assesses the width of the archway & the passage, as well as the door into the antechamber, trying to determine if the hydra could pass any of these portals.
