Pelenwin is a staunch non-drinker, but the pair soon find their way out onto Crib Street, where the finer merchants in town run their premises, and here come upon a purveyor of fine liquors and niceties curiously called Trice Tunnelworm's.
Inside it is cool and dim, and the small space is crowded with wines, ports, cigars, cork-screws, decanters, cheese knives, tobaccos, coffee beans, and so on. There is a luxuriantly spicy smell in the air.
"Whhelcommme," purrs an exceptionally fat Snork perched behind the counter, his little waistcoat straining at its buttons, as his tiny fangs seem to be straining to jump from his smile. His eyes glint from behind gold rimmed spectacles.
"Hhowww caaan I asssssisssst you gentle Men?"
(FYI -- Tunnelworm's best fortified antique brandy is 50sp for the one pint bottle, or 90sp for a full quart (two pint) sized bottle.)

Gustave bids Olaf good shopping, and drifts toward Bow Street in search of smithies, seeking a sturdy suit of armour, shield and helm to replace his ragged ring mail. There, he wanders slowly amid the ringing of falling hammers, perusing wares. His eyes drift over many a find sword, helm and hammer, but he is searching for something fine, something particular...

"And at that price, you'll take that information with ya to your dying day!" Dorgan laughed mirthlessly.
"Tell ya what, friend, let's make a deal. Tell me what it is and I'll let ya buy it from me fer a fair price. If just knowin' what it is be worth twenty silver, then possessin' it ought ta be worth a bit more, eh?"

"A connoisssseur, is it?" asks the Snork doubtfully, after assessing
Ulric's garb more carefully.
"Well, I stock nuuuuuthing but the very best here."
He huffs up from his stool and retrieves for a bottle from the top shelf.
"This hhhhere is Tunmann's Epicure, fifteen years matured in thaaa barrel, and another 10 in the thaaa bottle. You won't find better with your budget, I'll wager. A trifle at 8 piecessss of gold." He gives a rather greedy looking grin, as if suspecting that
Ulric cannot afford such a treasure...

The street-alchemist gives a hack that might be an unsympathetic laugh.
"I m-m-make the stuff!" he whoops.
Upon reflection
Dorgan hardly reckons the fellow has ten silvers to jingle in his purse, let alone twenty.

Guntram and Co; The Plough and Furrow Common Room

At the Plough and Furrow the morning is turning into an extremely pleasant one. Albert is an efficient host, always bobbing up exactly when a tankard need refilling, or a plate of bread or cheese threatens to empty. In truth, those who remained behind are having an excellent time of it. Living the high life, so to speak, in a humble but fair establishment.
Guntram isn't one to turn down a drink or two when offered, and shares in the drinking and laughing and story telling. He does however, keep an observant eye on the comings and goings.
Once the breakfast service is done with, the common room is all but empty. Albert and his staff bustle about cleaning tables and floors, and a few farmer folk come in for a drink or a bite to eat and a yarn, but these folk hardly seem like trouble makers, and are swiftly about their business.
In truth, it is the comings and goings of
Guntram's own fellows that is of more interest. Company members are variously bathed and groomed and outfitted in smart new clothes, and various wares are acquired and returned with as the morning drifts toward noon...

"He said to meet him back there in an hour."
