Bilfur puts a goodberry in the sloth's mouth, and the creature swallows it on instinct. Bilfur isn't sure whether or not the magic berry will help the sloth fight off the venom, but Bilfur feels good about himself knowing he tried.

The party tracks the spiders to the west. Hot on the spiders' trail, the hobbets pass by two side passages (shown on the map). Continuing west, the tunnel emerges at the eastern edge of a large cavern (Area 3).

Our heroes sense they are at the edge of a vast, echoing cavern that stretches far beyond the range of lantern light. The cavern ceiling arches out of sight (higher than 30'). Thick as cables, there are multiple strands of spider silk scattered throughout the cavern, leading from the floor up into the dark ceiling rafters. Two of the nearest spider-cables are vibrating (like spiders just ran up them).

"If we are going to light these on fire, let's do it before anyone walks in there.' Kiplyn would speak at almost a whisper remember the last time things went badly.

Robur nods in agreement. "An excellent plan. Let's do it!"

Were there any signs of webs in the side passages that we passed on the way here? If yes, Willie is feeling overexposed and check the back trail to make sure they haven't walked into a trap.

If not, he'll go along with a plan to burn out the spider nest.

OOC: No webs outside the immediate Area 3. You tracked the spiders by following the blood trail from the wounded spider.

Kiplyn lights a torch from his inventory and applies the flame to one of the spider-cables. It takes a few seconds to burn through the thick silk, then the cable snaps: The bottom end flops to the ground, and the top end is dangling and swaying a few feet off the floor. (If Kiplyn was hoping the flame would race up the cable like a fuse and destroy the spider nest on the ceiling, that doesn't happen. There's just not enough fuel to spark a conflagration.)

Kiplyn would move towards any strands in reach. Shield ready on his arm and torch in the other hand. "We might need to throw some oils into the nests to make this actually go."

"Perhaps a flaming arrow sent up high?" Noh offers, hoping it's a helpful suggestion.

Just realized, I don't think any of this party uses arrows.
