				Akbar raises the steel crossbow, aims, and... thunk!
He could hardly miss at 30--40ft range, and he does not. His bolt vanishes entirely into the super-goblin's fleshy gut--probably punches out the other side too--and bowls the monster over backward as it wakes with an awful start! The great-goblin's yellow eyes bulge huge and he roars mightily at this outrageous hurt before he--and the entire sofa--tumble over backward in a clatter, struggling to identify the source of this hurt, not to mention which way is up and down.
1d20=17.
1d6=5. Ouchy.
The referee dice for the goblin anti-hero hp: 4d6=??
So; that was a surprise segment for the players. Combat will follow, and the players will have the initiative.
The Goblin is half hidden behind the overturned sofa, which not doubt would hinder further missiles... on the other hand, 4" is an easy move into melee. Remember that Heroes have four attacks each round versus normals, and if you charge 4" into contact there will be (up to) two rounds of fighting; so he could get eight attacks (unless you kill him first).
What do you want to do next?

				Wetzel joins the melee, despite knowing his demise may be near. Perhaps his judgment is impaired by the several hits to the head he's taken over the past few days.

				Zax drops his throwing-axe and puffs his moustache at the obese greenskin, then (space permitting) tries to find somewhere to plant his pick in it.

				Akbar follows the others towards the creature with a measure of nonchalance and reloads the arbalest, meanwhiles keeping an eye out for interlopers.
