Maloof is wary of further traps, but cautiously raised himself to open the door fully and look around for anything he else can see in the dim light from his position at the top of the ladder. If nothing amiss is detected, he'll come back down to get a light source (the same lantern-on-a-rope we used earlier, so he can lift from the top of the ladder).

It looks like a small circular room with a treasure hoard. There does not seem to be a monster guarding it. He descends the ladder. Will he go back up alone, or will others follow?

Maloof, after ascending with the lantern, will first spike the trapdoor into an open position. He'll then cautiously dig a few test-holes beneath the coins to see if anything suspicious is underneath. Finally (if no other traps or monsters are detected) he'll begin collecting coins.

Franklin will help Maloof gather the coins. Balbo and Drogo are on lookout duty.

Aldbane will stay below and keep watch, ready to go up the ladder if needed.

Naillus will keep watch down below, ready with spell or sword

You spend about half an hour sifting through everything. You separate the mixed up gold and silver - there is about 5000 gold and 10 000 silver. You also find seven gems of varied colours, and seven gold pendants. Beside the dead body you see a well-preserved spear whose spearhead glows a faint silver

Unfortunately thieves can't use spears, and Franklin & Nailus already have a magic weapon each (although the spear might have additional powers).

Maloof wonders about the strange coincidence of the loot containing seven gems and seven pendants, but scoops them all up for now. He fills whatever space remains in his backpack with gold coins and then straps the spear to his back and heads down the ladder to make room for the next person to head up and fill up on loot.

We're quite a long way from the exit, I think we should start heading back after we've filled up. We might have to get the wearboars to help carry the silver coins.

I don't think the were boars like silver

The gold will weigh about 250 pounds, so you should be able to slit it among your party and make it back to town
