Meanwhile, Zax and The Herald continue to stride, unabated, into the unknown...
The smell of the "smelly passage" was perhaps due to the mess hall itself, where their fellows continue their search.
Not 40ft further in, they reach a Y intersection. The tunnel is growing relatively dim here, for they have passed none of the irregularly spaced torches that have assisted them until now. One fork curves to the left, and generally seems to rise toward a promising hint of torchlight. The other fork tends marginally to the right on an approximate level, but vanishes off into pitch darkness.

Being neither avaricious nor especially cunning,
Dopey fails to pocket the purse and instead holds it aloft with a cry of
"Aha, I've found something!"
The hobbet kneels and shakes the contents out onto the floor to check for items other than coins.

Leudigar cuts the 12" dagger/sheath free of the drunken goblin's belt and examines it to see if it might be of high quality.

The Herald says I'll need a torch if we're going right.

Zax snorts with what might be Is there no end to the shortcomings of these long-legged invalids? but says only "Left it is then God-hugger"
He takes the left passage.

Dopey spills a purse-full of silver coins over the floor, and is delighted to count them out: 40 sp and 10 gp of various mints and states of griminess, but good metal none-the-less. Among them are a weevil, a button, and an old wasp cocoon.
Meanwhile, Leudigar frees the dagger from its sheath in a surprisingly easy motion. The blade is rule straight to the deadly point; both cutting edges carry a blue-steel sheen associated with rare sharpness. It looks a serious thing; not wrought in the style of any goblin-smith.
Remember that 1 gp = 6 sp = 6 XP.

A little way down the passage, Zax and The Herald of Man continue their sortie, taking the left fork in the passage which climb somewhat thru a broad left-hand curve until they come to another fork in the passage where a tunnel diverges, leading to their left a short way to a door. There is a torch bumbling from a wall sconce here, illuminating the intersection softly.
The way ahead flattens and straightens out toward another intersection about 40ft off. The way to the left leads to a closed door about 50ft away.

Does the purse or anything else on the hob's person have a name stamped or stitched upon it

Karl will move over to the left hand passage and watch his comrades depart. He'll stay here, covering them with his bow, ready to raise the alarm if they get into trouble (that he can see or hear, anyway...)

Leudigar adds the sheath/dagger to his belt and falls into his place in line in the marching order and heads out.
