That's perfectly fine.

Let's say a reasonable quality, plain wooden, 12" double-pipe would set him back 6 sp. A 24" pipe would cost 12 sp.

Grand Adjusting inventory on the cast list.

One question. How much are The Abstruse Litterateur and Ryther's Entomological Iridescence worth? Reading the thread I am starting to wonder if the company earned more from adventuring or looting boons and spellbooks from dead players.

Ok, another question. Me and Colombo are like that. Can one add spells to an existing tome? Or does one have to lug found spells around in their original form?

And one more question: Can Magic-Users use slings? Reading the back thread I see Ulric using one but the weapon list for M-U's lists only Staves and Daggers.

Just realized I forgot languages. Jan is literate of course and will need to read/speak whatever language the 'Abstruse Litterateur' is written in. Apart from that I can see him learning Dogeral while working with the snork traders as well as the languages of any major trading partners. After that I am not so sure.....
What is the difference between archaic and historic? Are we talking Latin as historic and classical Greek as archaic?

How far away are the Merovingian, Radjemian, and Xanthem speaking regions?

Sorry if the questions get annoying, I tend to ask a good number of them.

Welcome Clay!

There are your rolls:

Str 6, 5, 2 = 13
Int 1, 2, 5 = 8
Wis 3, 5, 6 = 14
Dex 3, 2, 5 = 10
Con 4, 6, 2 = 12
Cha 3, 4, 1 = 8

You can replace any one die with a 6 expect that:

. Substituting your 6 must not make an 18.
. Elves may substitute a 6 in intelligence or wisdom only.
. Dwarfs may substitute a 6 in strength or constitution only.
. Halflings may substitute a 6 in charisma or dexterity only.

You can read about the house rules http://odd74.proboards.com/index.cgi?bo ... hread=8034here.

You can also ask questions about the house rules http://odd74.proboards.com/index.cgi?bo ... hread=8035here.

You will begin play with clothing, a bedroll, a backpack, one week of victuals, a water skin, and a coin purse containing 61sp.

Note that the silver piece is the basic unit of trade, and also that:

1 gp = 6 sp = 36 cp.

The cost of adventuring goods are listed http://odd74.proboards.com/index.cgi?bo ... hread=3426here.

You do not have to pay 133% of the list price for your starting gear, but you will have to pay the extra cost in Ket once play begins.

You will also be granted a boon which will be determined according to your choice of race and class.

Post you initial character concept here, and once we have all the minutae worked out you can post your completed character sheet in http://odd74.proboards.com/index.cgi?bo ... hread=3425The Cast thread.

Remember, I'm here to help!

Wow. Nice rolls! You could end up with a 17 STR or WIS or push DEX up to 14 and have four above average stats...

Lots of options there for ya! Good luck and welcome to the game!
