The Ante Chamber

Meanwhile, the calamatous melee in the ante-chamber continues, the brutal Ogres smashing flags and cobbles with collassal club strokes, while Gustave and Michele taunt the first monster with deft rapier and staff, and Dieter somehow imposes his own intimidating presense by dint of visceral sword strokes and indomitable, red-faced anger!

Initiative is rolled (1d6; Dieter=4(+1), Gustave=4, Michele=2, Ogre1=3, Ogre2=6)

Dieter's foe works its shield and club defensively now, having twice suffered grievous wounds from the unsurpassingly intense fighting-Man. "EYE-GORRRR!" it bellows over the din, blowing great globs of thick saliva from its hoary fangs, "EYE-GORRR! GET OUT HERE!" then with dastardly speed it blocks Dieter's slash with its thick round shield, and strikes back with an unexpected spear-like thrust of its splintering club (1d20=20!) catching Dieter fully off balance and dealing him (5dd=1,3,3,5,6) a crushing blow of 6 hit points right to the chest!

Dieter staggers back, and desperately counters to negate the monster's follow on attack (1d20=8) but the wind is gone from his lungs and his counter lacks any real sting.

Meanwhile, Gustave and Michele ply a frantic game of evasion with the second monstrous brute. This one is has tasted but one prod of Gustave's blade, and seems almost to be enjoying the wanton destruction laid about. "Eat stick, runts!" it bellows, and it smashes the huge blunt intructment into the cobbles where Michele had stood but moments before. In the tight confine of the half-lit passage Gustave tests his luck again (1d20=5) but this time the foe is more alert and easily parries his thrust, and forces Gustave back with another wild swing that smashes a stone from the wall mere inches from his head! "Haaar!" roars the Ogre, its obscene breath seeming to fill the tight space, as it lashes out wildly at (1-3=Gustave, 4-6=Michele; 1d6=6) Michele with another club blow (1d20=2) but again falls short. "Snit, you Men dance good!" swears the Ogre, pulling back sharply as Michele attacks to thrust his stout staff into its neck (1d20=11), barely missing by an inch (missed by 1 pip).

Meanwhile, Andaros moves up past Thorgrim in the tight passage to stand over fallen Olaf, who looks in a bad way... the ante is already so perilously tight with the sundering melee he isn't sure how he'll find room to get involved...

Olaf has -1 of 10 hit points (dead at -2)
Dieter has 6 of 12 hit points.

Your intentions for next round, if you please...

Mads the Fair

Mads drops his bow and grabs his cold-iron war axe. He readies himself with a somewhat sad look on his face--he always liked dogs. "Can't do your own work!?" he calls out into the distance.

Michele continues to flail away with his stout quarterstaff. The burly fighting man looks more and more like an Ogre himself with each crazed round of melee!

If Andaros has enough room to strike any of the ogres, he will do it. If it isn't possible, he will stand next to Olaf's body and defend it.
OOC: If you get a chance, do a little "binding of wounds" sort of thing, so Olaf can get back to positive territory...:)...get back into the fight and go down again.

The "nearest fight" is about to be in the passage-corner where Ulric, Mads and Padrig will receive the charging wolves. Caine might possibly join the fray from the flank...

Ah, but these are no ordinary dogs... they are larger by half than any dog Mads has seen, with hellish green eyes, and gone wild beyond reason with blood-lust. And all present have heard the evil tales of beasts that eat naught but Man-flesh...

The binding of wounds or tending of hurts requires a full turn (10 rounds) to produce an effective result...
