Dorgan manages a smile that looks more like relief than good humor.
"Sorry I gotcha new armor all dusty. Mebbe you should hire someone to carry a broom behind ya?"
Looking at the remains of the golem, Dorgan frowns deeply upon spotting the lump of dark ore. He warns the crew not to touch it as he racks his brains trying to think of what it might be.
Walking back to the rope, he calls up to Josiane.
"Hey, Miss, all is well down here now but stay sharp. Lots a' noise an' vibration could bring that centipede back right quick."

Guntrum eyes the figure of the clay man, wondering if it is about the right size for the armor plating the party had found. "If so, there could be a lot more of these creatures hereabouts, judging by that lot o' armor," he muses aloud. "Good thing this one was in his undershirt, as it were."

Olaf drops from the rope and straps his shield back to his arm, "Is everyone all right down here?"
He refrains from saying, "I told you so." but his frown still indicates he doesn't think we should be doing this right now.

Josiane sighs with relief on hearing her friend's voice.
"All quiet up here," she calls back softly, while looking around anxiously to make sure everything still is...

While Dorgan studies the metal lump, Highbough turns his attention to the work bench (assuming that doing so will not move him out of sight/earshot from the rest of the party). His first instinct is to check it for traps before he disturbs any of the contents. Ideally he would like to find some kind of clay-giant-making instruction manual.

Ulric's rodent retinue collectively blink then bob their grubby little heads enthusiastically and dart off in all directions to vanish into tiny cracks and tunnels and dark shadows.

When the dust has settled,
Dorgan leans over the lump of dark ore to peer at it... it is twice the size of his two fists together, and the shape of an irregular egg. While the surface is dull and black, it is shot through with tiny vein of a purple crystal that occasionally pulses to violet for a brief moment.

It is all too obvious to Dorgan -- or any Dwarf! -- what this must be. It is a Gravagam, also called a Marrowstone. The heart of a mountain.

That looks to be a distinct possibility.

The bench is at the perimeter of the company's light. It is long and solid, and now awkwardly placed after the Man of Earth casually threw it aside. Everything atop it is ajumble. These things seem to include the tools of carpentry; saws, hammers, vices, pots of nails, rivets and screws, and various lengths of timber. Nearby in the shadows are two potter's wheels -- driven by foot pedals, and a great metal cauldron for mixing. There is the feel of a busy construction project left half done...
There are a couple of large rolls of paper amid the clutter, and a dirty journal.
