Dorgan looks at the wooden platform, then at the pedestal, and scratches his chin under his beard.

"The real question ta be asked is, who built all this? Why'd they leave it here? And when they comin' back ta claim what's theirs?"

OOC: What does Dorgan know about this Marrowstone? What does it do? Is it safe to touch?

Unfurling the rolled up documents, Ulric (and Highbough, who is near) spies drawings of some technical complexty. For the most part, the diagrams appears to describe a scale model of a man-like skeleton or frame, which would stand some 10ft tall. There are separate drawings of the hands -- including complex mechanisms for instrumenting the digits -- and also the hips, in which locomotion seems to have been the principle focus.

Unless it were the heart of a most malcontented mountain, the Marrowstone should be perfectly safe to touch. It is a thing of rare beauty, especially to a Dwarf who would know its true nature.

Only one such stone can be dug out of any mountain, and it is said to hold the elemental essence of the mountain. Peaks with a healthy heart are vibrant, thriving things; robust and growing and producing a bounty of ores and gemstones. Those whose heart has been mined fall sullen and stagnant, and are soon overrun with evil things. They will eventually be so riddled with dark tunnels and chasms as to collapse in on themselves and be mountains no more.

How a Marrowstone should end up here in Ket is the question...
