In another hour the shadows are beginning to lengthen and the air to cool as evening approaches.

Olaf and Guntram locate a neat fold along the side of a ridge in which a tiny brook babbles. It looks to be an ideal place to camp for the night.

(Do you wish to rest for the night, or force your march overnight?)
"I think this will be a good spot to camp." says Olaf, " Let's wait for the others here."

"Hrmph. With a bit of twine I might set some snares for a few rabbits and the like," muses Guntrum. He sets about seeing if any in the company have anything suitable.

"Yes, a good spot," Ulric says approvingly when he reaches the site that Olaf has chosen.

"I will need some time to study while there is still light. Best to use the time that we have."

Ulric finds a spot settle down and opens his waxed satchel. Filling his waterskin he extracts a book and begins to focus.

OOC: PM to Ways.

Highbough is lost in thought trying to devise a method to hunt rabbits using his Heat Metal spell. But his thoughts wander to a beloved pet of his childhood, and soon he is rocking back and forth making cooing noises that the other party members find somewhat disturbing.

Olaf says, "Who's with me for a sweep around the area looking for some game for our supper tonight?"

Olaf will let others deal with snares. He'll hunt with his bow. Olaf intends to return well before dark, though, even if he comes up empty. We'll need to gather wood, make a fire ring and start a camp fire by the time the light fades or it will be a cold, dark night.

If there are no materials suitable for snares, Guntrum will accompany Olaf. But without a missile weapon of his own, his chances of bagging larger game are slim.

Wen would look confused at all the camp setting? "Are we stopping? That's a shame, after all there is no fine time to walk then under the stars as the moonrises." So says the Owl. Not ready to sit Wen wander around the edge of the campsite taking note of landmark, flora and fauna. However he is not hunting.....

Eventually Wen would sit down and study some spells. Perhaps asking Highbough and Ulric if they had any hints as to why might be most useful. "I was thinking of preparing The Irascible Leer, and perhaps The Eerie Lambent should we need a distraction. I have no more damaging spell then the Leer."

OOC: Wait! I thought Guntrum was a crossbow specialist, no?

If others in the party can produce game she will gladly set about cooking it. She is no Wibert ( ) but her years as squire to her foster-father have made her an at-least-competent cook.
