Carful not to touch the heads, Noh will take two javelins.

If the cave-dweller heard us coming up the ramp, it would have needed to retreat down the south-east passage. However, it also could have heard us even earlier burning the webs, and come down the ramp and exited past the arrow-slits, since that area seems to be of importance to it.
Dame Simonetta is curious enough to see what the arrow slits are protecting, and agrees with Dougal's plan.

Robur finishes wolfing down his sandwich and hurries up to follow everyone while admiring his new pointy javelin-thingy.

Robur takes 1 javelin and Noh takes 2. (If anyone else wants a javelin, speak up and I will add it retroactively.)
You backtrack down the ramp and find yourselves on the north side of the arrow slits (area 7). The arrow slits are 30' above you, so it would be easy to overlook them, if you didn't already know they were there.
You discover two new exits from this area: west and north.
There are no wandering monster encounters this turn.

I don't really see any reason to choose one direction over the other, so I chose one at random.

Dame Simonetta moves into the western exit and peers around the curve.

You head west to a 'Y' intersection. The northeast tunnel curves out of sight. The western tunnel leads to a heavy, locked, iron door (#8) with a sign that says "Dungeon Level 5."

Who put the signs up? Noh asks innocently.
Vote to check the door, but sadly to continue on. I'd rather go down to Level 5, but not with crossbow giant behind us.

Robur follows westwards towards #8, and decides to check for hidden passages or doors by examining the walls carefully by looking carefully and also feeling along the walls for cracks that look unnatural with his fingers and his "javelin." He's heard that sometimes they put strange mysteries like these in these old dungeons for evil wizards to escape attacks from heroes or hide great chests of treasure...
