The bugs are getting tougher. Or I'm getting weaker. Or both

If by "meaningful" you mean "killing all of your characters", you go ahead and take your time. We can wait.

Sorry all I'm been away for a while but I'm back. Sometimes family life gets too busy.
I am holding my breath at what happens next with the sand worms!!!

Hey, happy birthday, Sully.
Mine is coming up on... Saturday. Ugh.
I think you stop looking forward to them around 36 or 37.

Normally, I would agree with you but I got a chainsaw this year so I'm excited. Next year I'll be back to not caring.

While I appreciate the application of the chainsaw and how its function gets me my lumber... it's kind of the opposite of what tools make me happy.

I believe I'm getting a spokeshave this year from my MIL.

That's because you're a creator and I'm a destroyer!

Speaking of creating...
I'm sick because I'm stressed out over a project I'm working on for a local marketing design firm. I'm always more susceptible to getting sick when I'm stressed. Anyway, I've attached some pictures of my stressor.
First one is the full shot of the table while I'm prepping it for finish. 8'6" long (or so... haven't measured it since I trimmed the ends square), 4' wide, 1 11/16" thick. Live edge walnut from Indiana (I'll drive 3 hours for 1/4th the price, compared to what walnut slabs in St. Louis cost) with 5,300 year old Irish bog oak butterfly keys to stabilize knots and the joint line.

Second picture is a detail of the knot and a butterfly across the seam after the first coat of finish (still wet; it looks like crap now that it's dry and won't look good until after about the third or fourth coat).

I'm in the final stretch, though, which means I'll have a 220 lb weight off my shoulders soon...
