Kiplyn looks the secret door over trying to figure out if it can be opened from the inside. "Maybe it would be safe to take rest in here. We know the pass phrase I guess I can stand in here and close the door to test it"

Kiplyn successfully verifies that the door can be opened from both sides using the passphrase.

OOC: Can you imagine if I did that to you? Hahahaha evil DM! Maybe I would put a trick/trap like that on a deeper dungeon level, but that would be excessive for Dungeon Level 1 in my opinion. :)

Dougal highly recommends resting inside the secret room with the door closed.

Dougal definitely wants to do a more thorough exam of this large secret room before they move on. His nose itches and he FEELS like there is something more to this room than what they see.

Once everyone is in the room and the door is shut. Kiplyn gently lays out the daggers, bone whistles and wrapped bars in orderly piles as only hobbits can do when deep in dangerous areas. He keeps a Silver dagger and bone whistle on his person for now. And looks the rest over...."This lot is heavy! Best leave the bars here until we are ready to go. Someone should stand guard while the other rest and Dougal and I give this place a good search. Everyone should grab a fancy dagger" He holds on the Silvered edge weapon to show it off.

Wilbur will stand guard. He'll also take one of the silver daggers.

Turn 27: Rest Turn

The wounded Hobbets use their 'second breakfast' racial ability, consuming 1 day's rations to regain 1hp. (Current totals: Willie 6/11, Dougal 8/10, Dame Simonetta 3/9, Wilbur 10/12.)

Does anyone not want a silver dagger? Should I just go ahead and give everybody 2 of them? @dtspurrier, druids are allowed to use daggers in my house rules (though I think he would still also keep his wooden cudgel for its symbolism).

While Kiplyn is laying out the treasure, Dougal is on point exploring the spider-cult's hidden doomsday bunker. Here is what he finds:

The middle section of the cavern was the cult's living/kitchen/dining area. The layout is spartan and compact, like the galley of a ship. The cultists did not live a life of luxury: Picture 12 monks, each with a simple bowl and spoon, eating porridge out of a communal pot.

Dougal ransacks the cupboards. He sniffs (or perhaps even tastes!) the contents, but all the food is spoiled and the cookware is rusted. There is nothing of value here, in the middle third of the cavern.

Next up is the southern end of the cavern. If a few people help, it should take 1 more turn to finish searching. Who's doing what?

Dougal continues his searching into the southern end of the room. He will take two of the silver daggers.

Kiplyn would start searching the southern end with Dougal now that everything is laid out clear and legal like.

A little down at himself for zoning out during the battle, Willie concentrates on munching a few dried mushrooms with sea salt and black pepper from his pack and immediately feels better, physically and emotionally. He stays close to the door.

"I'll stand guard here while you search down there," he offers.

He does help himself to two of the silver daggers.
