(I would assume we can double-up at times, in which case Desmond and Dorgan would be in second ranks. If only we had spears...)

Highbough wonders if the Cloak of Elemental Night's magic will end when he dies, or will his corpse stay invisible, forever leaving his friends to wonder what happened to him? He scouts ahead of the party, eyes and ears open for the first sign of danger.

...Meanwhile the others discuss their plan, and make ready to move out.

Gustave's notion seems to be to backtrack out the library door, through the (now opened) runic double door that lead into the abbey proper, and from there out into the courtyard where he recently parted ways with the others.

This route will take him and his fellow back into the abbey, and possibly under the very nose of the tar demon!

Unknowingly, the others agree heartily, and everyone files out of the library and into the passage outside...
OOC: err...not quite what was intended. The Gustave intends to do all possible to avoid said demon, and proposes to backtrack to the entrance to the abbey where the group split origially (taking cues here from team 2 where required, having not been this way himself), thence to take the path which he travelled previously with team 1, and finally following the 'new road' fashioned by Giatn Guntrum to the courtyard. This may be longer, but it avoids the demon...at least for the moment

Highbough is an excellent tracker and would have no difficulty following the trail of debris and rubble, with the help of Gustave's detailed directions. The invisible elf leads the party the long way around to Guntram's Gate, avoiding the tar demon.

Okay; sorry I misunderstood your earlier post.

The investigation of the burned out library and Grell nest complete, Gustave -- proceeded by Wen's lingering candle flame -- leads the company back toward the abbey front gate where the company originally divided its concerns.

The passages are really on wide enough for one armoured Man abreast, so it's Gustave, followed by Dieter, Desmond/Mondes, Dorgan, Wen, and Josiane.

Highbough is... nowhere to be seen! However, by the time everyone has filed out, the invisible old Elf realises it is going to be impossible to get infront of the company, so instead he trails along, unnoticed behind.

They make their way past the unexplored stairwell... past the first intersection, and back to the lobby.

Gustave is first to poke his head in, and sees that the stout front door hangs ajar, and the wan cast of fading daylight enters the now dusty lobby.

There is what might be a dead wolf upon the floor. Other than that, the place might well have been abandoned for weeks.
