Desmond begins looking for a likely shelter for the evening, like a small clutch of trees or a ledge overhang - anything that is natural and might provide them some cover from casual observation and weather.

Dorgan considers the options.

"I'm agreed with Olaf. Let's find a hidden spot now for camp, and worry about scoutin' later."

Guntrum is willing to join a scouting party. He has some skill in the woods but is not especially stealthy or given to night vision. If it is deemed better that he guard camp, he won't complain.

"I think Dorgan has it aright," says Josiane; "Let us rest and recover our strength as well we can for tonight - remember some of our company bear injuries. Perhaps a dawn reconnaisance might be in order?"

Desmond/Mondes the two-headed Halfling locates a nice bit of shelter beneath a large, overhanging boulder along the side of a hill face which should conceal any cookfire from sight of the abbey, and which should restrict access two either of two directions rather than all four.

It is as good a spot as you are likely to find, although it is scarcely two hundred yards from the the abbey. However, dusk is at large and there isn't time to find anything else so the company settles in, breaks out some well deserved water and rations, and discusses the prospect of a night mission.

To be truthful, you are all footsore from the long hike, especially those carrying armour and heavy gear, and a rest would be well deserved. However, a little intelligence could go a long way too...

Please detail the night watches (if any), bearing in mind that two thirds of a night's rest will see you rested tomorrow, but will prevent any overnight healing.

If there is to be a night mission to the abbey, we'll launch it in a separate thread. Who is going?

Josiane assists with any cooking there is to be done as well as she is able and will cast The Supplication of Medicant Requite on Dieter, hopefully putting him back somewhere around full strength.

She will attend to Murphy the mule and her evening devotions before volunteering for first watch.

Wen helps get the camp settled then looks around brightly, "Who's ready for a bit of scout?". Whatever lassitude Wen had along the trial under the bright soon seems to have dissipated as the evening has approached.

OOC: For spells casters this a good opportunity since if we use any magic on the scout we can regain it by morning.
