You head back down the corridor towards the elevator, but slowly tumbling towards you look like two 10' high, clear, cubes with large spots on them like dice. They are about 50' away, but you estimate will not reach you this round

The hobbets are ready; they still have their slings in hand from the ogre encounter. If they can get a clean shot, then pew! pew! pew!

Wand of Fire does 30 damage, monsters die
Nailus' wand of fire blows away the oncoming monstrosities, leaving behind just sticky, ashy residue

Hopefully Naillus at least looked what the monstrosities were.
Regardless, he will now look around in more detail the room itself. Any doors? Anything else stands out?

Maloof will proceed onwards towards the elevator, stopping to look for gems or other items when he gets to the residue.

We encountered the cubes in the corridor on our way back to elevator.

Maloof is correct. Sadly, no gems were found, but you make it safely back to town
coffee is retiring his character, but we have had so many characters play, get a magic weapon, and then retire, taking it out of the party, that I am going to give Aldbane a Mace +1 so he cam join in the fun. I am sure another +1 weapon will eventually show up for Maloof
