Franklin is standing by, sling in hand.

After much preparation, the door is opened onto a 40' long corridor that ends in a T-Junction at the 50' section. On the north wall, 20 feet along, is an iron grate. You can see a lever sticking out from the wall beside it.

Wiglaff, keeping an eye down the corridor toward the t-junction, nevertheless advances fifteen feet toward the grate & takes a look.

Is the lever on the near side or far side relative to Wiglaff?
Does the grate block a corridor headed north?
Is the grate open or closed?

Franklin joins Wiglaff advancing 15' toward the iron grate. He uses his racial ability to listen for noise while Sconces sniffs the air.

Vesh & his henchmen follow Wiglaff & Franklin into the corridor but stopping midway between the two and door, studying the walls and floors for any potential signs of danger (runes, holes or spaces where traps might lay hidden).

Nothing is heard, although Sconces is whimpering a bit

Wiglaff advances to the gate & pokes his head around, peering through it. He's careful not to touch the lever.

He sees a 30' room centered on the grating. Asleep on a pile of straw is a large lizard, maybe 7' long. It's body is fatter than a snake's but less wide than a gecko, for example. It has folded bat wings and a tail as long as its body
