As he descends the stairs, KOCH searches for trip wires before each step. He strikes up a conversation with Olaf, "That torch-rod is an interesting gadget. Where'd you find it?"
"Oh....in a ruin several days travel from here." Olaf says as he continues to move down the stairs searching for any sort of traps or dangers.
"This band seems to have had some interesting adventures. Why are you interested in taking out Saxxon?"

KOCH looks overhead to check any openings or out of place stones/planks in the ceiling.

"Not interested in taking out Saxxon." Olaf says with a shrug, "We're just looking for treasure. Maybe clearing out a place like this to use as a stronghold. Besides, speaking for myself, I don't like bandits and this Saxxon character seems to be a brigand and a bandit who treats with Ogres and other foul monsters."
KOCH looks overhead to check any openings or out of place stones/planks in the ceiling.
Olaf is concentrating on the floor and walls looking for trip wires or anything else that might be a trap or a danger.

Pelenwin shouts as he ducks behind the curtain to find a very narrow space, perhaps only 1ft wide between the heavy fabric and the stone wall behind it. It is very dark indeed, but Pelenwin immediately finds (by touch as much as by sight), that there are numerous towers of timber works that run up the stone wall into utter darkness. These are concealed from the main space of the wing by the curtains.

There comes no reply to his bold question...

There are several manually operated winches that hold ropes which run up to the ceiling, no doubt to operate moving platforms and props on stage, and also a stacked pile of high props... oddly shaped sheets of timber, perhaps painted on one side (impossible to see in the dimness). Over the stair which the company entered this space there is timber scaffolding stout enough, perhaps to support a very supple Man, or (more likely) a teenaged boy.

Mads deems that couple of decent axe blows would certainly weaken it... but doubts any few cuts of his would bring all of the overhead works down -- there is simply too much of it, connected to too many different timbers...

(they are currently about half way down...)

Hearing no response, Pelenwin, steps out from beyond the curtain and looks around for a good spot to scale the scaffold. "Come Mads, let's take these buggers down."

"Could set the area aflame to clear out the rats," he says to the others.

Sorry if it has become unclear (PCs are running all over the place).

Right now Pelenwin, Dieter, Ulric and Mads are here in the stage wing.

The others are elsewhere.

Pelenwin looks about for a place to climb.

The scaffolding, such as it is, rises up into the theatrical works and rigging that is scarcely visible in the darkness above the wing, and presumably also out over the stage itself.

From the wing there are numerous square shaped columns of timber construction, each roughly 2ft square in section, and of timbers variously 1 inch to 3 inches in thickness.

(Wisdom 15) Pelenwin deems the scaffolds hardly fit to support the weight of a grown Man, less so a fighting-Man in coat of mail and war helm, and carrying a heavy pack of gear. What is more, a fall from 30ft above could be... nasty indeed.
