The pair approach the darkened archway opposite cautiously, and see that it portends a short passage that soon passes into a larger, darker chamber. They can't see much from here, yet catch a whiff of the old dark therein...

Lemmi purses her lips at the lurking darkness ahead. "What say you, wizard?" She whispers to Chiron, "More o' the unknown dark, or backtrack for a pint? Sadly, I think we lost yur friends som'ere 'tween the smelly guys an' the wrym."
She casts an eye warily back toward the awaiting chamber, "This girl's ready ta call it a day...and t'first one's on me", she says, tapping a stuffed pocket.

Chiron replies, I am content to retire for now, as long as you're willing to assist me in hiring more companions for the next expedition.
Assuming Lemmi agrees, Chiron backtracks to the boat room.

As the pair turn their backs and exit the room of strange statues, they do hear a faint but non-the-less disturbing rattle that carries from the darkness beyond the open archway... which only assists them to hasten the backtracking, and promptly they arrive back a the ruinous boat room. Tis an awful mess, as they recall, with the slain wyrm and corpses occupying the place; along with the shattered wreck of the longboat hull.
There are two other exits; the door left leads back to the sundial room, and the side entrance to the dragon lair. The door right leads back toward the Churchcroft cellars...

The brave pair exit the boat room via the previously de-hinged door, to find themselves in a passageway. They can go either left or right.
To their left, the passage soon makes a 90 degree turn to the right. To their right, the passage runs on 40ft or so before making a 90 degree turn to the left.
Which way?
