The missile-armed PCs are already to the rear of the marching order (nearer the torture chamber, and the choking cloud), while the melee-armed PCs are at the front of the marching order (nearer the Ogre ambush).

Initiative is rolled (1d6; Dieter=4(+1), Olaf=2, Gustave=1, 1st Ogre=4, 2nd Ogre=1).

The first Ogre growls "I et my Daddy afore 'ee learned me my manners!" at Gustave, as it presses its attack with a series of powerful swipes of both shield and club (1d20=7). But Gustave is ready for the monster now, and nimbly ducks and weaves, falling back a step or two to allow Olaf space to lunge into the melee with his sword (1d20=8) only to be blocked upon the monster's great wooden shield. Gustave immediately spring back to counter attack (1d20=2) but his thrust too is deflected by the Ogre's massive club before it can do any great harm.

As this unfolds, Dieter has thrown caution to the wind, roaring his own battle-cry and raining down wild hacks and slashes against the second Ogre (1d20=11) battering its shield and defenses and at last cornering the monster in the narrow confines and slashing it savagely across its broad chest for a grevious (2dd=3,4) 6 hit points -- a blow which would fell a normal Man... but not a mighty Ogre!

"Gnut's Eyes, I'll tear yar limb from limb fer that!" spits the Ogre, and retalites as fiercely as ever (1d20=7) but it cannot reach Dieter, smashing naught but dust and broken cobbles from wall and floor with its clumsy blows.

Meanwhile at the rear of the file, Mads, Caine, Pelenwin and Ulric organise themselves in the crook of the passage corner so that they might unleash their missiles at whatever bursts through the choking cloud that has now all but filled the torture chamber. But with the din of the battle ahead, it is now difficult to discern any sound coming from the besieged door and beyond...

Your intentions for next round?

"Back, vile monster!" Olaf shouts as he slashes and stabs at the Ogre, "Run and you may yet live!"

Alternately, if Olaf can't push it back, he'll try to push past it so he can attack it from the flank. He's really trying to open up some room here for the others to come up.

"Caine can you get Michele's arbelast and use it or give it to me to use?" says Padrig.

Padrig sets his torch down in the corner, has his spear and shield at his side. Holding his bow (or arbelast) he is ready to shoot what ever comes down to passage form the Torture Chamber. One fired he intends to use this spear and shield to fight. If a creature charges Padrig will hold the spear with the end against the wall to impale any creature charging at him.
