The monster pounces aggressively at Soval as he scrambles to find his feet and keep the lantern burning, at the same moment Elindir and Barald take their opportunity. (1d20; Troll=5, Elindir=1, Barald=12). Soval rolls aside to dodge an elephant blow, and somehow keeps the lantern alight. Elinder gets elbowed in the face by one of his allies in the wild press, and his moment passes, while Barald the Old Boar of Mirkwood finds renewed courage in his heart, but his axe glances away from the Troll's scaly and mailed back without dint. But it is enough for Soval and Norin to find space to attack (1d20; Soval=9, Norin=20!). Soval is back on his feet with a few wild slashes but Norin squints one eye and give evil aim to his mighty hammer, and with feet planted wide knocks the Troll a telling blow for (6DD=4,3,2,6,3,6) 14 hit points the send it reeling -- but even this isn't enough to fell it!

Now Hallam, Einer and at the last Lomeluin reply (1d20=13,17,12), but it is Einer who strikes true with his grim sword (2dd=4,5) for 5 hit points. The Troll howls savagely and fights on!
