Olaf will head back to Brigitta hoping to meet Gustave there.
Olaf and Dieter walk across town again, this time in anticipation of picking up a huge treasure from Brigitta in exchange for the sparkling necklace.

Alas, when they arrive Gustave is nowhere to be seen, but Brigitta, the dark haired waif of a jeweller is visibly disappointed that Gustave has not re-appeared, but then seems surprisingly nonchalant about allowing Olaf and Dieter to cart off the compact chest that is waiting for them. She simply insists that Olaf ink his name at the bottom of a parchment full of words that he scarcely can read. She does, after all, recognise Olaf from earlier, and she already has the necklace in her possession.
"You don't mind me taking a quick look inside do you?" Olaf says as he unlatches and lifts the lid of the small chest. He will pick up one of the gold coins and give it a bite...he's heard you do that to test for a counterfeit coin, but he doesn't know how you'd tell, but he does it anyway. He'll also run his hand around in the chest to make sure it is has what he thinks is about the right number of coins, again he won't (can't) count them, but doing *something* seems appropriate, so he will.

If he is satisfied, he'll nod, close the lid, latch it and sign...
The fighting-Men are not phased one way or the other, and so Olaf awkwardly writes something approximately his name (he hopes) before the pair of them hoist the small chest between them, and trudge back down the gentle slope of Ket back to the Plough and Furrow.

They get a few momentary glances along the way, but the chest is rather plain, and it might just as well contain wax or potatoes...

It is just gone noon by the time they arrive back at the Plough, wherein the general public is beginning to arrive at the common room for drinks and meals and general chatter...
Olaf waves to his companions and says, "Gustave didn't show up, but we picked up the package anyway. Let's go take a private look at it."

After getting a fast lunch Ulric will go to the library with Highbough if he is willing.

"Ulric I hope the enlightened patrons of this Library are more accepting of my kind than those I encountered in the poorer quarters. Did you meet any Elf-folk on your previous trips to Ket?"

Highbough will accompany Ulric to the Library after lunch, with his hood raised discretely. He'll carry the spear himself.

But then a worried frown creases her brow; "Have you seen any sign of Percy? I am told he left the inn this morning. The thought that two of our companions have vanished away troubles me deeply..."
Dorgan returns Josiane's smile, patting the bandoleer over his shoulder, upon which the vials are firmly secured. The dwarf removes two and hands them to Josiane.

His brow furrows when told of the crossbowman's departure.

"Don't surprise me none, ta be honest wit' ya. Him and Mads, they're havin' the natural reaction ta being stalked by a vampeer. Me, I'm too angry 'bout being attacked to be a'scared."

Dorgan looks around the room and lowers his voice a bit.

"I gotta admit, this group worries me a bit. They're gettin' soft, enjoyin' the spoils of their last adventure. Still, they're tough mercs... and the priests we talked ta are useless for nothin' past making holy water, no offense to yer Order, Miss."

The dwarf sighs.

"I just dunno where else ta turn. Did you say you was employed by Men who asked you ta check out that barn? Mebbe we can find them again and see if they can help us. It's one thing ta turn a blind eye ta Snorks making some coin but every Man in this city should rally ta our cause once they learn of the undead rising."

"It was Percy and Mads that were in their employ, not I," Josiane replies; "I am not sure how much aid we can look to there - I fear those merchant's concern extends no further than the well-being of their purses."

She considers the triumphantly-carousing party; "Certainly our new friends do not seem overly-eager to engage in our struggle at present - although, given the trials they say they have undergone, I cannot find it in my heart to blame them. Perhaps when they have further rested and attended to their various needs they may prove more amenable. Certainly the gentleman named Gustave seemed very - ah - attentive."

"But that does not mean we must needs be idle," she continues, her grey eyes narrowed in thought; "The daylight is our ally. Let us make all use of it. Two thoughts occur to me. The corpses that rose against us must have come from somewhere." A shadow crosses her face; "I am not certain, but I fear your suspicions regarding the young maid we found in those catacombs were well-founded - she was gone from her chains when we fled. If that poor child was a corpse she was a fresh one. It might do well to locate the place where the people of this town bury their dead. There may be answers to be had there."

"Alternatively, the vampire needs servants to attend to its needs while the daylight binds it to its coffin. We know one of these. Think you we might seek out that goblin you had words with in the pavillion?"

Brigitta is unconcerned, and when Olaf opens the small chest he sees an amazing sight. Both he and Dieter gasp involuntarily. A mithril-bright light reflects over their faces and both Men see ten rows by six file of silver shillings all stacked exactingly neatly so that they form a flat surface and fit perfectly within the box. The coin he bites tastes... cool and hard and metallic. But what should a shilling taste like anyway?

(10 rows by 6 files of perfect stacks of 30 silver shillings = 1,800 silver shillings, exactly filling a purpose made box).

"Well mister Tunneeoo, armour I can rightly do you for, but it's no small task, and costs no small coin I'll warn. We'll soon see how serious ye are, at that."

He waves his apprentices back to their work as he further explains the intricacies of his trade. "A breast plate is yer basic protection, light to wear and easy on the purse too. Then there's yer field plate, harder then mail but still allowin' a Man to move about. Or ultimately, you go to yer full plate. That's yer total kit. Heavy as all Hell, but nuthin' is getting past that."
"I believe that I am in the market for a fine suit of field plate, my good man", states Gustave, definitively, "movement being somewhat dear to me."

"I understand that quality such as this will take time to fashion - but when would such a suit be available?" he enquires, suddenly aware he has already missed his appointment with the lovely Brigitta - no, the lovely engaged Brigitta. Funny how memory works. Oh well, presumably Olaf wont run off with the loot.

"Perhaps you have a fine shield and helm available for purchase in the meantime?" he says, turning his mind back to the present task, gazing around the well-stocked smithy and remembering some comment of the newly arrived fighting lady about something called a 'vampeer'.

Olaf says, "Well, that seems right."

He adds with an apologetic air, "Not that I doubted you Miss Brigitta just that Gustave and the others would have my hide if I messed this up."

"It's been nice doing business with you and I hope we will have further business for you one day soon." Olaf offers to shake her hand and then he heads back to the inn...hopefully with the big Dieter.

"Dieter, what do you think of that tale the lady told us last night about undead walking the streets here?" Olaf asks as the pair walk back to the inn, "Personally, I hope it was just swamp gas, 'cus I'm ready for a few days of relaxing peace and quiet before we go out exploring again."
